George Anthony has been testifying most of the morning on Day 30 of the Casey Anthony Trial.  Day 30 was the day I presume George Anthony has been dreading for some time because the focus of the inquiry has been on whether or not George abused his daughter and whether he participated in a cover-up of the death of Caylee Anthony.   During persistent, but in-artful, questioning from Jose Baez, George Anthony became very combative, and at times defensively abrasive.  Notwithstanding Jose Baez' inability to control George Anthony by declaring him a hostile witness and asking appropriate leading questions, George Anthony was aggressively challenging Baez, almost as if Anthony was the lawyer and Baez the witness.  

During an exchange where Baez was asking George Anthony point blank if he had abused his daughter, George Anthony vigorously denied the abuse, and this response was completely expected and anticipated by George Anthony; however, what was somewhat telling was that Casey Anthony revealed a rare moment of raw emotion shaking her head looking directly at her father in disbelieve that George Anthony was denying the abuse.   Given the dynamic of that situation, one could easily conclude that there is some truth to the notion that Casey Anthony was abused by her father.  

As the testimony continued and into cross examination George Anthony finally broke down emotionally begging to just get this questioning over with.   The reaction from George Anthony could be indicative of a person who is deeply conflicted and who is hiding something.   If you accept that George Anthony did attempt to commit suicide, that he had an elicit relationship with River Cruz during the pendency of the search for his grand daughter, the possibility that there is some truth to the allegations of abuse, and you combine all this with George Anthony's emotional break down when the pressure ramped up during trial, it could be argued that George Anthony is in fact hiding some deep dark secret.

Any way you look at this case, the Anthony family is messed up beyond any sense of reality.   There are clearly family secrets the family is trying to keep protected, I suspect by the time the trial testimony is concluded some of these secrets will be revealed.  It may very well be that Lee Anthony will be the one to finally come forward and lay all this out.   As the trial continues, the pressure on Cindy, George and Lee Anthony is elevating and I suspect it will not be long before one of them explodes and some of the Anthony family secrets are exposed.
